CCIL on CAN TV 10/22/09 - Guest Charles Ginns

Charles Ginns, Network 90, was the featured guest on the Chicago Christian Industrial League's (CCIL) weekly CAN TV show, Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. Network 90 is a program at CCIL that offers a 90-day transition from incarceration to community.

Charles encouraged viewers not to “judge” and that sometimes people make mistakes but they can be rehabilitated. He is evidence of this belief stating, “I made poor choices growing up, getting involved with drugs, alcohol and gangs. Jail time was seen as a badge of honor. I know now it’s no road to take. Being incarcerated strips you of your family, your friends, your career, your life.”

Mr. Ginns was referred to CCIL via the Network 90 program. This program provides the link between CCIL to its housing and employment connections with ARAMARK, the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development and many other prominent partners. In 2007, CCIL boasted successful job and home placements for more than 175 individuals. Today, this success rate continues to increase. Incessant follow up is provided ensuring stability and growth.

CCIL has been providing hope for families and individuals affected by poverty and homelessness for 100 years and counting.

Hotline 21 is a live, interactive, call-in show. Viewers are encouraged to call 312-738-1060 with questions or comments. This is a great opportunity to learn more about CCIL's mission, programs, partnerships and people served.
