The Chicago Christian Industrial League (CCIL) is appearing on Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV) every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. beginning October 1 through December 17, 2009. Tune in to Chicago’s local cable station on channel 21 and see a variety of guests every week.

CCIL resident and Foodservice Training Program graduate Mr. Robert Robinson kicked off the Fall 2009 series last night, Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. Mr. Robinson and host Jenny Brandhorst explored the circumstances that brought him to CCIL and the steps he’s taking to rebuild his life. For instance, Robinson once stood in line to receive provisions at CCIL’s Community Food Pantry, now he’s volunteering in the pantry and giving back to the community.

“My family and friends have regained their trust in me. Now, when I set out to do something, I follow through and do it,” comments Mr. Robinson.

Robert credits his faith and CCIL for his transformation stating, “It’s a great place to get help. I’m prayerful everyday.” CCIL has been providing hope for families and individuals affected by poverty and homelessness for 100 years and counting.

Hotline 21 is a live, interactive, call-in show. Viewers are encouraged to call 312-738-1060 with questions or comments. This is a great opportunity to learn more about CCIL's mission, programs, partnerships and people served.
